Long-Term Change

An education can change a person's future, which is why our school program is so important.  We sponsor over 100 children each year to help them pay for all their school-related costs so there is no barrier to their education. This also improves the overall quality of life for their families because now their limited resources can be spent on food, housing, etc.

At the beginning of each school year, we also give each child a backpack filled with school supplies so they can start the school year with all the essentials for success.

Money is The Barrier

A child's education can be a significant financial burden for poor families in Mexico. Students have to pay for books, uniforms, activities, and school supplies. Costs per student can range from $250 for elementary students to $2,000 per year for college students.

Many of the families struggle to pay for their children's education related expenses, which can lead to missed days of school or even drop-out. The hope for a better future for each child depends on their receiving an education that can provide better job opportunities in the future. 

This is an important element of our goal to foster long-term sustainable change.
